Why do sea disasters keep happening in Indonesia? | DW News

Indonesia recorded at least 601 sea accidents by August. In September, the Virgo Transport 8 joined the long list of disasters. It has been more than two weeks since the passenger ship capsized in Indonesia’s Java Sea. Eighty-two people have been confirmed dead, and officials say dozens of bodies may still be inside the wreck.
