UK Energy Shortage: Diesel Prices Near Record High as Fuel Supply Concerns Grow
The UK is facing growing concerns over fuel supplies as diesel prices approach a record high. The RAC warned that diesel could break its previous record this weekend, with the average price reaching 199.05 pence per litre on September 27 — just 0.04p below the all-time high. Petrol stood at 174.04 pence per litre. The rise comes amid ongoing disruption to energy markets from the US-Iran conflict. Sky News reported UK diesel reserves at around 42 days in July, among the lowest for developed economies.
