Rep. Issa Says Redistricting Creates More Seats in Play
Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) says redistricting could backfire in some states by creating more competitive seats that require significant campaign spending. Issa says Flavio Bolsonaro’s departure from Brazil could help settle questions around the country’s transition of power, while cautioning that his presence in the US does not necessarily mean he will be allowed to conduct political activity from here. On Israel, Issa says Netanyahu would likely continue an aggressive approach toward Iran, Gaza and southern Lebanon if he remains prime minister during another election cycle. Issa also says Congress should address the debt ceiling during the lame-duck session and expects lawmakers to pass the defense authorization bill on a broadly bipartisan basis. He speaks with Kailey Leinz and Joe Mathieu on Bloomberg’s “Balance of Power.”
