Remembering iconic psychedelic pop artist Peter Max

Artist Peter Max has died at the age of 88.

His bold, psychedelic pop art reflected the “flower power” movement of the 1960s and made him one of the most successful artists of his time.

Born in Berlin, Max came to the United States as a teenager after fleeing Nazi Germany with his family.

He studied in New York, where he developed a bold, colorful style that he later brought to subjects as varied as the Statue of Liberty, U.S. presidents and even Taylor Swift.
