Ke Huy Quan on his journey from refugee to Oscar winner
Ke Huy Quan went from a refugee fleeing Vietnam to starring in “Indiana Jones” and “The Goonies.” Decades later, he made an Oscar-winning comeback. The time he spent away from acting is what he calls “the quiet years,” when Hollywood took a back seat and he began to question whether he would ever be in front of the camera again. Meeting his wife was his turning point; she encouraged him to return to acting and audition for “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” the film that won him an Oscar.
In this episode of Settle In, he talks with Amna Nawaz about his memoir, “Never Say Die,” his family’s escape from Vietnam, the years he spent away from acting, and the people and experiences that helped him find his way back.
