Music made using artificial intelligence is the quintessential example of “musical inauthenticity,” historian Ted Gioia says.
“AI has never fallen in love. AI has never grieved the death of a loved one. AI doesn’t know what it’s like to deal with your parents or your children or community,” he said. “It’s all play-acting.”
Gioia, along with journalist Sidney Madden, joined Judy Woodruff for the latest episode of her podcast, “In Pursuit of Happiness,” to discuss America’s musical identity and more.
