Dolly Parton Day marked with music, kindness and pink
Grab your coat of many colors and pour yourself a cup of ambition: Friday was Dolly Parton Day.
Millions honored the late country music icon on Sept. 25, or 9/25 — a playful nod to her hit song and film.
From musical performances to movie screenings and much more, it was a day to celebrate Parton’s life and legacy, including her dedication to literacy.
Her Imagination Library charity has provided more than 300 million books to young children around the world.
Fans were encouraged to mark the day by enjoying her songs, carrying out acts of kindness or by wearing pink.
