Author who was violently attacked for his work comments on press censorship in America
Salman Rushdie, the award-winning author who went into hiding for almost a decade after Iran’s supreme leader called for his killing over his novel “The Satanic Verses,” reflects on censorship and the state of free expression in America. Rushdie was stabbed more than a dozen times on stage in 2022 before giving a speech and was left blind in one eye.
