Why young voters are turning against Trump | DW News
A new Harvard poll highlights growing disillusionment among young Americans: just 9% of those under 30 believe the country is heading in the right direction, while 77% disapprove of Trump’s handling of the economy. Among young voters certain to turn out in next week’s midterms, Democrats enjoy a commanding 37-point lead over Republicans, with 63% support compared to just 26%. The poll also reveals a striking generational divide among Trump’s 2024 voters: fewer than half of those aged 19 to 34 still approve of his performance, compared with around three-quarters of voters aged 50 and over. We spoke to Grace Weinstein, a senior correspondent at the online news outlet The Recount, about why and how Donald Trump has alienated America’s youth.
