Why AI music challenges what we value | DW News


A song racks up millions of streams. Radio stations love it. Audiences can’t stop listening. But what if much of it wasn’t made by a human? Australia’s music charts have drawn a line in the sand, ruling that songs must be substantially human-made to qualify. But as technology rapidly evolves, for how long? We ask if rules like this protect musicians, copyright, identity, or something even more fundamental: the human connection behind a song.
