US forces complete withdrawal from Iraq | DW News
The US military announced on Wednesday that it has completed the withdrawal of all American troops from Iraq, ending a 12-year mission to fight the Islamic State terror group. The last troops left an air base in northern Iraq under a deal between Baghdad and Washington. The end of the US-led coalition was celebrated as a victory by some, including Iran and its allies in Iraq, but many Iraqis are concerned that their own security forces will be unprepared for the security challenges ahead.
