UN peacekeepers replace Jesus statue wrecked by Israeli soldiers
Italian UN peacekeepers have replaced a statue of Jesus Christ vandalized by Israeli soldiers in southern Lebanon. A photo of an Israeli soldier appearing to strike the statue sparked international condemnation. The Israeli military said two soldiers would receive 30 days of military detention and be removed from duty over the destruction of the sculpture.
