Trump’s appeal rejected again in E.Jean Carroll case

The U.S. Supreme Court has again rejected President Donald Trump’s long-shot appeal of a $5 million civil judgment in favor of writer E. Jean Carroll.

In 2023, a jury found that Trump sexually abused Carroll in a New York City department store in the mid-1990s. The president paid the money last month.

He’s also asked the high court to toss another, larger $83 million verdict that he had defamed Carroll. The earliest the justices would reconsider that case would be after recess, in the fall.

Trump has denied all wrongdoing.
