Speaking to Fox News, Trump said the blockade aims to pressure Iran into a peace deal and that he has no timeline for ending the conflict. The US-Iran war is now nearly six months old. Iran and Oman are negotiating a safer shipping route through the strait, though Tehran stresses the waterway will not reopen immediately. Trump also reiterated that Iran cannot be allowed a nuclear weapon. Meanwhile, Jared Kushner held talks with Hamas and Israeli PM Netanyahu on a Gaza roadmap as that crisis continues in parallel.
