Donald Trump said he has ordered the US Navy to ‘shoot and kill’ any boats laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz. The US president also said the navy would ‘triple’ its operations to clear the strait of any mines.
Trump’s comments come amid heightened military activity in the seas around Iran, despite the extension of a ceasefire between Washington and Tehran.
