Trump honors 13 soldiers killed so far in Iran war
President Donald Trump honored the 13 soldiers killed so far in the Iran war during remarks at Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day, calling them “tremendous” and “brave” people.
“These incredible men and women gave their lives to ensure that the world’s number one state sponsor of terror will never have a nuclear weapon,” Trump said. “Oh, and they won’t, they will never have a nuclear weapon.”
Trump welcomed the family of Air Force Captain Ariana G. Savino, who died in a KC-135 crash over western Iraq that also killed five other U.S. Air Force service members.
The president also participated in the wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
