Trump cancels stream of Fort Hood shooter’s execution
President Donald Trump has canceled plans to livestream the December execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan after growing bipartisan backlash.
The president posted online that he still believes “streaming the execution for all to see might have been a strong deterrent,” but he added, “many very good and well-meaning people would rather not watch him die.”
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced the livestream plan last week, but a growing number of Republicans, including Vice President JD Vance, said they would not watch.
