“This hits close to home.” Kuwaiti-American journalist Ahmed Shihab-Eldin has been detained in Kuwait for 7 weeks on the basis of a new law enacted just days after he was arrested. According to Jodie Ginsberg, CEO of the Committee to Protect Journalists, Kuwait has been criticized by the U.N. Committee Against Torture for malpractice against those in custody.
