Study: More than 1 in 3 say politics ended a relationship
A recent study conducted by psychologists at UC Irvine found more than a third of Americans say political differences contributed to the end of a relationship. And in a 2025 Pew survey, 56% said they had stopped talking to someone about political news because of something they said. Katy Tur speaks to Chad Kultgen who, along with his sister, decided to create a podcast where he records his political arguments with his parents.
