‘STOP LYING’: Attorney for Texas immigrant shot by ICE calls out ‘FALSE’ DHS claims
A federal judge ordered that a man shot by an ICE officer in Austin, Texas, appear at a Sept. 30 court hearing. The order prevents immigration officials from deporting Wilber Garces Perez before then. The 28-year-old immigrant from Venezuela was shot by an ICE officer Sunday while making deliveries for DoorDash. Perez still has a bullet lodged in his back and is being held at an immigration detention center in South Texas. Calls are growing for accountability and transparency in the incident. Immigration attorney Kate Lincoln-Goldfinch, who represents Perez, joins Morning Joe to discuss the case and respond to the latest statements from the Department of Homeland Security.
