Sen. Thom Tillis defends Todd Blanche after advancing his nomination
Sen. Thom Tillis, R-NC, voted to advance acting Attorney General Todd Blanche’s nomination Tuesday to the permanent role after Blanche issued an order to terminate President Donald Trump’s “anti-weaponization fund.” When asked whether any president’s personal attorney should become attorney general, Tillis defends Blanche, saying he’s no longer Trump’s attorney. Tillis tells Morning Joe that Blanche has been interested in the DOJ “long before he ever knew Donald J. Trump.”
