Sen. Schmitt appears to mix up sports teams in attempt to link Smith to Willis
During his questioning of Jack Smith, Republican Sen. Eric Schmitt accused Smith of attending a basketball game in Atlanta in February 2024 in an attempt to link him to Fani Willis, the district attorney for Fulton County. Willis brought charges against President Donald Trump and several allies in the Georgia election-interference case before being disqualified over her relationship with the lead prosecutor she hired.
