Saudi Oil Tankers Bound For India Turn Back After Houthi Warning In Red Sea

The Middle East shipping crisis is escalating after two oil tankers carrying Saudi crude for India turned back in the Red Sea following warnings from Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels. The group has declared a naval blockade targeting vessels linked to Saudi ports, raising fresh concerns over global energy supplies and India’s oil security. According to Reuters, multiple Saudi crude tankers altered their routes instead of sailing past Yemen’s coast. The Rodos, carrying around 700,000 barrels of Saudi crude for India, and the Amazon, also transporting crude destined for India, abandoned their original course after the Houthi warning.
