Saudi Arabia teams up with US against Iran | DW Current Affairs
The war between the US and Iran is expanding, and has drawn in new players. After a brief lull in the fighting, on Wednesday Saudi Arabia confirmed its forces had joined the US military to hit targets in Iraq. The Saudis said pro-Iranian militias based there had recently been launching strikes on Saudi oil facilities. The US-Saudi strikes followed what Washington called “an attempted surprise attack” by Iranian ballistic missiles on US forces in the Middle East. DW’s Brent Goff chats with historian Daniel Gerlach, while DW’s Nicole Frölich speaks to professor Simon Mabon from the University of Lancaster.
