PM Modi in Uzbekistan: India Elevates Ties With Uranium Supply, $1 Billion Trade & New Cooperation
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held delegation-level talks in Tashkent, marking a major step forward in India-Uzbekistan relations. The two countries upgraded their partnership to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, while bilateral trade crossed the $1 billion mark. Discussions focused on expanding economic cooperation, connectivity, joint ventures, business ties and cultural exchanges. Key decisions include a Foreign Minister-level Coordination Council, upgrading the Joint Commission to the Ministerial level, a Business Summit, and long-term arrangements for uranium supplies. PM Modi also invited Uzbek delegations to study India’s development projects, including GIFT City.
