No clear winner emerges from Israel’s election | DW News

Votes are still being counted after Israel’s parliamentary election. The campaign was framed as a choice between continuity and change, but neither side received a clear mandate to govern. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s right-wing bloc is projected to win the most seats, but not enough for a majority in the Knesset, Israel’s parliament. The opposition bloc of challenger Gadi Eisenkot would have to rely on an alliance with Arab-led parties to form a government. DW’s Felix Tamsut and Gil Murciano from the Israeli Institute for Regional Foreign Policies discuss the possibilities for Israel’s political future – including going back to the ballot boxes.
