A day after 19 people were killed in a similar agitation against a social media ban, hundreds of young people took to the streets of Kathmandu on Tuesday to protest corruption, sparking new tensions in the city. In Nepal, social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, and X resumed their operations on Monday night, just hours after thousands of young people, including schoolchildren, protesting in front of the Parliament under the ‘Gen Z’ banner and yelling anti-government slogans calling for the immediate lifting of the ban.
