Mistrial declared in Lindsay Clancy case #shorts
The Lindsay Clancy murder trial ended in a mistrial on Friday.
Judge William Sullivan announced the news after more than a week of jury deliberations.
Clancy, a former labor and delivery nurse, was on trial for killing her three children. Her attorney, Kevin Reddington, blamed her actions on a rare condition called postpartum psychosis, while prosecutors challenged that diagnosis and said she was criminally responsible.
According to the court proceedings, 11 of the jurors were in agreement on a verdict, but there was one holdout. The jury stated in a note to the judge that, while the remaining juror had acknowledged doubt, that person refused to apply it to the verdict.
