Mika FACT CHECKS Trump’s role in Covid pandemic response

Doctor Anthony Fauci invoked the Fifth Amendment more than 100 times during a Senate hearing on the Covid-19 pandemic yesterday. He was subpoenaed to testify by Republican Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, who has had a years-long feud with Fauci, which the doctor addressed in his opening statement. During the hearing, Republicans failed to mention President Trump’s role in the response to the pandemic, including refusing to prepare Americans for the horrors of Covid because he didn’t want to hurt the economy. Mika fact checks the long list of ways that Trump downplayed the pandemic and botched the response.
