Federal agents raided Rep. Ilhan Omar’s Washington home last week as part of an investigation into her immigration paperwork, according to reports that also say authorities now have Omar’s DNA and passport and are working to build a case for denaturalization and possible deportation.Since the raid, Omar’s sister, who was questioned by federal agents, canceled a book event, citing a family emergency. Former immigration judge and Center for Immigration Studies fellow Art Arthur told The National News Desk Omar’s citizenship status, as described in the “official narrative,” is tied to derivative citizenship through her father’s naturalization.

“So according to the official narrative, Ms. Omar was born in 1982,” Arthur said. He said she came to the United States at age 12 from a refugee camp in Kenya and that her father became a U.S. citizen in 2000.
