Lebanon’s border Christians: Life under Israeli military restrictions | DW News
Just a few kilometers from the Israeli border lies the Lebanese Christian town of Debel – inside what Israel calls a “yellow zone,” an Israeli self-declared security zone which stretches from Israel’s northern border some 10 kilometers into southern Lebanon. Other nearby towns, predominantly Shiite, have been evacuated and partially or entirely destroyed by the Israeli military. But Debel is one of three Christian towns in southern Lebanon where residents have maintained a presence. DW reporter Mohamad Chreyteh spoke with residents about life under Israeli military rule
