ISRO Launches NVS-03 To Strengthen NavIC, India’s Indigenous Satellite Navigation System | Video
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully launched its GSLV-F18 rocket carrying the NVS-03 navigation satellite from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, on October 30, 2026. The satellite was successfully placed into its intended elliptical orbit, marking another important milestone in India’s efforts to strengthen its indigenous satellite navigation capabilities.
The NVS-03 satellite is designed to enhance the reliability and accuracy of NavIC (Navigation with Indian Constellation), India’s homegrown satellite navigation system and an indigenous alternative to GPS. NavIC provides positioning, navigation and timing services across India and regions extending up to 1,500 kilometres beyond the country’s borders.
