Indian police have cracked down on young people protesting alleged irregularities in the examination system. Demonstrators are demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan after an exam paper leak scandal. Police used tear gas and batons to stop supporters of India’s youth-led Cockroach Janta movement from marching on Parliament to demand the education minister’s resignation. The crackdown has triggered protests beyond Delhi.
