INS Samarthak: India’s First Major Warship Built By A Private Shipyard Commissioned Into Navy
India has commissioned INS Samarthak, its first multi-purpose naval vessel built by a private shipyard, marking a major milestone in the country’s indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities. Built by Larsen & Toubro (L&T) at its Kattupalli shipyard in Tamil Nadu, the vessel was commissioned at the Karwar naval base in Karnataka.
