How national parks are ‘shrines’ to nature, our history
U.S. national parks are the “best that America has to offer,” says podcaster and longtime RV traveler Jason Epperson.
“I’m not the first to say that national parks are America’s greatest idea. I think they’re more than that,” he told PBS News’ Judy Woodruff. “I think they are our front lawn. I think they are where the rest of the world comes to experience America.”
“These places should be shrines to nature, to our history, to America,” he later added. “You can, whoever you are, from around the world or from within the country, you can go to them and experience them.”
Epperson joined Woodruff for the latest episode of her podcast, “In Pursuit of Happiness,” to discuss the history of the National Park System and how the parks continue to shape the American experience.
