House candidate says she was raped while fixing sign
In Arizona, a congressional candidate says she was raped while trying to repair campaign signs this summer.
Democrat Bernadette Greene Placentia told The Phoenix New Times that she was hit in the head in a parking lot in August and later awoke to find a man on top of her.
The trucker and small business owner said she reported the incident to the police two weeks later.
In a statement provided to the PBS News Hour, her campaign says Greene Placentia “hopes that by speaking about her experience, others will know they are not alone.”
