‘Her story changed, but her understanding changed’: New investigation underway in Cornell rape case
New York AG Letitia James is now leading the charge to re-investigate the disturbing sexual assault allegations at Cornell University. James was tapped by Governor Kathy Hochul as a special prosecutor to investigate the student’s allegations that she was gang-raped at a Chi Pi fraternity house in October 2024 after Hochul said she had “lost faith” in the District Attorney’s handling of the case. The DA has defended his decision not to prosecute the case at the time and the men who are accused of rape have denied the allegations against them. New York Times investigative reporter Debra Kamin joins The Weekend to discuss.
