Gop rep. says Vance may have just cost himself the presidency

Vice President JD Vance warned Republicans on Wednesday not to break ranks over Vivek Ramaswamy’s controversial Ohio campaign commercial, telling them to “stop whining” about it. And President Donald Trump, who endorsed Ramaswamy early in the Ohio primary, told reporters at the White House he “didn’t know anything about it” but heard “the mother went very rogue on the daughter.”

Republican Rep. Nancy Mace (SC) was sharply critical of the ad during an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, saying that she thinks Vance’s defense of the commercial will cloud his political future.

CNN’s Michael Smerconish reacts to Vance’s statements and CNN political panels discuss Vance’s tendency to draw from President Trump’s playbook for handling controversies.
