Google May Leave China For India And Vietnam To Make Pixel Production: Here’s Why

Google could stop manufacturing Pixel smartphones, smartwatches and wireless earbuds in China from 2027, consolidating production in India and Vietnam, according to a Nikkei Asia report. The move marks a decisive step in reducing dependence on Chinese manufacturing amid intensifying US-China tech rivalry, export controls and supply-chain risks. Vietnam will remain a key hub, while India takes on a larger role in assembling advanced Pixel models. The shift aligns with Google’s growing commitment to India, including a planned $15 billion investment by 2030, and comes as Pixel shipments continue to rise. The company is targeting further growth this year.
