Future war: why Navies worldwide are studying Ukraine | DW News


At the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukraine barely had a navy capable of challenging Russia’s powerful Black Sea Fleet. Four years later, Russian warships rarely leave port.

Ukraine did it with missiles, drones and tactics born out of necessity, turning the Black Sea into a testing ground for a radically different kind of naval warfare.

We went aboard Ukrainian vessels and met the teams developing its latest sea drones to see how Ukraine fights a fleet without a fleet, and why militaries from the Baltic to Taiwan are studying what happened here.
