First heat, now water: How Russia is ramping up pressure on civilian infrastructure | DW News


As temperatures climb in Ukraine, Russian attacks seem to have shifted focus from energy infrastructure to critical water supplies, petrol stations and civilian institutions, in a seeming effort to drive Ukrainians out of frontline towns. A town in Kharkiv was left without petrol stations. In another town, a major reservoir supplying water to a million residents of Kharkiv was hit by six glide bombs. DW’s Nimisha Jaiswal travels across Kharkiv region to visit these frontline towns under pressure, and find out how residents are preparing for the worst.
