DGCA’s New Air Ticket Rules Explained | Name Correction, Refunds & 48-Hour Window
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has introduced major passenger-friendly reforms in India’s air ticketing rules. Flyers now get a 48-hour “look-in” window to cancel or amend tickets without extra charges (conditions apply). Airlines must also allow free name correction within 24 hours of booking and process refunds within 14 working days. Even non-refundable tickets will see statutory taxes like UDF, ADF and PSF refunded. Medical emergency provisions have also been clarified.
