Charlie Kirk Hearing LIVE: A Utah judge has ruled that Tyler Robinson will stand trial in the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, with the death penalty remaining a possible punishment if he is convicted. Prosecutors argued they have a “mountain of evidence,” including DNA, video footage and other evidence linking Robinson to the alleged shooting.
Robinson pleaded not guilty to the charges. Prosecutors argued that the alleged rooftop shooting, fired from more than 400 feet away into a crowd of thousands, created a serious risk to other people and supports the aggravated-murder charge. The defense disputed key aspects of the prosecution’s case and argued against allowing the death penalty.
