Carney says US trade deal possible, but not at expense of sovereignty
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said it isn’t a surprise that the U.S. would take some form of reprisal against Canada, when asked about President Donald Trump’s latest threat to increase tariffs on Canadian vehicles, auto parts and steel.
Carney said a “mutually beneficial deal” with the U.S. was possible, but only if Americans respect Canada’s sovereignty.
