Apple Maps changes Lake Ontario’s name to ‘Lake America’

Apple is the latest tech company to change Lake Ontario to “Lake America” for U.S. users of its map services.

The update came days after President Donald Trump ordered a new name for the body of water as part of his ongoing trade war with Canada.

Google Maps made a similar change this past weekend. So far, MapQuest has said it’s not changing the name.

Apple’s decision Wednesday won’t necessarily affect users outside the U.S.
