India and New Zealand’s free trade agreement will come into force on October 20, 2026, on the occasion of Vijay Dashami, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal announced on September 21. Calling it “A Vijay for both nations,” Goyal confirmed that both countries have completed the ratification process. New Zealand’s Trade and Investment Minister Todd McClay and India’s High Commissioner to New Zealand Muanpuii Saiawi exchanged the formal documents in Wellington.
