Kremlin orders Russia European businesses seized | DW News

Russia is tightening its grip on European-owned companies, taking control of the Russian entities of Switzerland’s Nestle, Germany’s Metro wholesale supermarket and France’s Auchan supermarkets. However, the Kremlin appears to be taking a different approach toward American firms. Is this simply about money and control, or part of a broader strategy to weaken the transatlantic alliance? DW’s Shannon Redstall spoke to Christopher Walker, Vice President at the Center for European Policy Analysis, for his take on the development.
