LIVE: South Korea Rushes For US Missile Shield As China’s Taiwan Threat Shakes Asia | Xi Jinping

South Korea has reportedly approved a $352 million plan to buy U.S.-made SM-6 missiles, a move that could significantly strengthen the air and missile defense role of its Aegis destroyers. According to reports, the interceptors are expected to equip three South Korean warships and improve their ability to engage aircraft, cruise missiles, and some ballistic missile threats, although the system is reportedly not expected to become operational until 2033.
