Advocates sue Trump over White House media ban
Press freedom advocates sued the Trump administration on Monday over its attempt to ban three media outlets from covering the White House.
The lawsuit was filed on behalf of six plaintiffs, including a Yale history professor, a high school civics teacher and a student journalist at the University of Pennsylvania.
They argue that, with such a ban, “it isn’t just the press that suffers — the public loses access to independent reporting and gets something closer to government propaganda.”
The White House dismissed the suit, saying that the outlets can report from directly outside the building.
