Bank of France governor dismisses contagion fears amid bond turmoil
France — the euro zone’s second-biggest economy — is barreling toward a debt crisis, according to some experts.
But Emmanuel Moulin, governor of the Bank of France, downplayed the risk of contagion, telling CNBC at IMF-World Bank annual meeting in Bangkok that he was “confident” in the stability of the country and Europe more broadly.
It comes after IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva last week issued a stark warning to France: “get your house in order.”
